Jean Kane

Professor of English

I hold a bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature and Art History from Indiana University, a master's degree in English and creative writing from Stanford  University, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia.   At Vassar I teach a wide range of courses in English and women's studies, including expository and creative writing, imperial and post-colonial literatures,  modern British and American literature, and women in global visual culture.  My  current projects include collections of poetry and imaginative prose as well as a monograph,   Religious Embodiment and Minority Modernisms
